Why Time Management Is Vital to Your Internet Business

Before you begin to proceed further on the home based business there are certain valuable tips that can be very helpful if properly understood and implemented. The first and foremost is of course the love and support of your family members without which it may not be possible for you to sit and concentrate on your work. You need to fix up certain hours for your work and have a very high degree of discipline to follow your work schedule. Managing your time for work is the most important. Even though you work from home and have complete flexibility you may find it very difficult to meet your targets set if you have no discipline and systematic work schedule. An automated marketing system can ensure that you work comfortably from home. Implementing these skills will also reduce your stress levels considerably!

Make Time

Set a time out when you know you will not be interrupted, and let others know of this time. Remember to mark this down in either Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook where you can see your block of time marked.

Prioritized To Do Lists

Developing a to-do list is easy to do. Again Microsoft Outlook is helpful here as it has its own to do list built in where you can prioritize tasks in order of importance. This also helps to avoid procrastination which is covered later.

Goal Setting

Set a goal for that day. Concentrate on it and mark a time to complete the task that achieves that goal.  Schedule time to set and evaluate your goals. Start a journal and write down your progress for each goal. Go through your goal journal each week to make sure you are on the right track.

Keeping a journal on your computer has never been easier!

Avoiding Procrastination

If you have found yourself putting off important tasks over and over again, you’re not alone. In fact, many people procrastinate to some degree - but some are so chronically affected by procrastination that it stops them achieving things they're capable of and disrupts their careers.

The key to controlling and ultimately combating this destructive habit is to recognize when you start procrastinating, understand why it happens (even to the best of us), and take active steps to better manage your time and outcomes.

Whatever the reason behind procrastination, it must be recognized, dealt with and controlled before you miss opportunities or your career is derailed. If you've looked at something more than once and haven't done something about it, then you are procrastinating.

Be careful not to get distracted by “filler” tasks. Things such as organizing your bookcase or filing papers can wait until you tackle the items that have the highest priority.

Once you have recognised you are procrastinating, get over it! As they say in the famous Nike advertisement. "Just Do It!" Find a reward for yourself to complete the task you are procrastinating about. Get someone to check up on you, but not "nag" you.

New Site Makes Online Marketing Fun!

I have just been introduced to a site that I have been hoping someone would make. A Web 2.0 site designed for Internet Marketers, this site really does have everything needed to build the perfect platform for online success.

The features are awesome, not only can you network with other contacts in the same industry, which is VITAL for success, we can also build a Hyper Viral messageboard list through the addition of an awesome list builder.

The site allows you to build a downline down 5 levels and contact them via messageboard, as well as this, they also reward you with 10% of the credits earned from everyone in your downline!

Credits are used to determine how much you get in the revenue sharing pool which means, just from being an active user, ViralNetworks share their revenue with you! How good is that!

The site has taken around 18 months to build from the ground up and these guys are serious about making it so much easier for you to succeed!

Creating a mobile blog

As well as earning an income online, my other passion is technology, so I was hunting around for something to post that encompasses both, and came across this fantastic blog entry from Techdreams, http://www.techdreams.org

Gopinath talks about Mofuse, http://www.mofuse.com, a free service that allows you to create a mobile friendly blog or any site with an RSS feed.

Check out the entry in its entirety here.

All blogger sites are already optimised for mobile web browsing, for example type in

http://adammeyerbusiness.blogspot.com into your mobile web browser and test it for yourself. Obviously the shorter the URL the easier it is to type in!

Getting a Blogging Job

The blogging phenomenon has reached such dimensions that presently it has gained prominence on a market where competition is anything but mild. This is how it came that business owners actually hire people to optimize blogs and keep a close watch over what happens on the web; companies that use blogs to make the relationship with clients and employees more informal and efficient are usually the ones in need of finding people for blogging jobs. After all, it takes quite some time to update fresh materials, answer comments and post opinions. Nevertheless, it is not uncommon to turn blogging into some form of home business.

If you could make enough money to live decently, I'm sure you'd like to stay home in front of the computer instead of commuting every day to the other side of the city. However, don't make the mistake of thinking that income keeps coming without any effort on the blgger's part; on the contrary, to make a blog profitable, you need perseverance, knowledge in the field, adequate software and a lot of time. Let's take the simple case of search engine optimization – what we shortly call SEO. Finding the right keywords to incorporate in the blog content is probably the first corner stone in the business.

What are the qualities of someone who blogs for a living? First of all, you need full knowledge of how search engines operate in combination with an advertising program: Adsense or Adwords, preferably. Then, you should be able to make a serious selection of the keywords and understand the way you have to bid for them: the keywords highest in demand are also the most expensive ones. You have to be able to identify those keywords that become inactive or that have a very low return on investment rate, and thus be able to get them back in use or replace them with new functional ones.

Working as a blogger also implies Internet marketing and e-commerce solid knowledge. It is true that the general rules of traditional marketing apply here as well, but we cannot ignore the fact that the web is a different market with specific rules and laws of action. There are all sorts of marketing tools you may find available on various sites, and you should not ignore their importance, particularly since products and services promoted via blogs depend on advanced advertising techniques.

Why Business Blogging can help your organic SEO results

Business blogging can provide many opportunities for business owners to promote their businesses online. These days, most of the web users are visiting Blogs to gather information regarding different companies or services. If the existing trend is considered, business blogging can create ideal prospect for driving potential traffic to your website in a natural way.

But the most remarkable aspect of business blogging is the fact that it helps the main website in boosting its organic SEO results and achieving high rankings in search engine result pages (Seeps).

Adding Content: Basically, business blogging is considered mini-websites where the bloggers from the company post useful and up-to-date information about the company.

For more detail go to: www.thesearchengineprimer.com. As these blog entries are introduced at regular interval of time, you can maintain the consistency of adding new content to the website. The regular contribution of content gives search engines a strong reason to help your Blogs show up in organic SEO results.

Using Keywords: It is no secret that keywords have major roles in improving the organic SEO results of any website or webpage. Through your business blogging, you can promote the most targeted keywords of your site by skillfully using them in the content of your blog entries. If a particular business blog gets high rank in search engines for a particular keyword, the links from the blog can lead traffic to your main website.

Tagging: Tagging or posting business blog entries under accurate and relevant categories is a crucial aspect of effective business blogging. Basically, the categories are created on the basis of keywords and for more detail go to:www.search-engine-premiere.com.search engines rank the pages included in a particular category in the Blogs sites. The tagging may not affect your organic SEO result directly, but it influences the ranking of your business Blogs for that particular category.

Generating Links: To a large extent, the organic SEO results of your website are dependent on the links on your pages. If you are linking to other relevant and information rich websites with high PageRank (PR) through your business Blogs, you can enhance your credibility in search engines. Other websites may like to link to your Blogs if they find your blog entries relevant and useful for their visitors. These links aid PR passing resulting in higher PR of your blog posts and subsequently, better performance in organic SEO results.

Visiting Your Site By Search Engines: Search engines love new addition to content and Blogs are the best way by which you can add content to your website. Many companies are creating business Blogs in Word Press and the major search engine crawlers frequent to such sites for the updated content. So chances are higher for your business Blogs being visited by search engines as soon as they are posted.

Business blogging can drive target traffic, gain returning visitors, and build rapport with your target audience. The comment section of the blog posts allows some of the most persuasive and powerful communication between the customers and the company. In spite of contributing to the corporate causes, business blogging is essential for a company to achieve organic SEO results in search engines.

The New Facebook

Facebook today announced another redesign of its site.

Facebook News Feed to be renamed Stream.

The Facebook Stream shows your friends' activity as it occurs, with automatic refreshing built into the page. The status update box, now branded as Publisher, simply asks: "What's on your mind?" Any text, photos, or video entered into it go straight into your profile and onto your friends' home pages at the same time.

The revamped page features added filters as well. The filters give you greater control over what you see in the Stream, letting you choose to see updates from only specific users or specific sources. For example something from the director of the move Watchmen. If you'd rather not see content that comes from particular applications, for example, you can opt to filter it out.

One of the biggest changes is that Facebook is getting rid of the distinction between private profiles and public pages. The 5,000-friend limit will be dropped from the public pages. Facebook doesn’t want Twitter to become the way large companies and public figures connect to fans. Up until now, Facebook Pages haven’t really been the place fans go to connect with their favorite celebrities or brands. For that, they’ve started going to Twitter, where they can get updates in real time. So essentially, these pages will now migrate to the same Wall and tabs design that personal profiles have used.

Recent estimates put Facebook far ahead of the rest of the pack when it comes to social network traffic. Some analyses show Facebook drawing double the traffic of its nearest competitor, the much more seasoned MySpace. Even the co-founder of MySpace's original parent company is now calling the race in Facebook's favour.

Internet Marketing and Social Networking

How will these changes affect the way internet marketing is done on Facebook?

One change is the Oodle powered Facebook Marketplace which will be relaunched as part of the changes. With Oodle’s online classifieds technology in the background Facebook hopes to boosts its Marketplace usage by Facebook advertisers and members for buying and selling various products and services.

The new Facebook Marketplace will not immediately replace the old Facebook Marketplace. Facebook members who are still using it can see the link to the Marketplace as a bookmark on the Facebook Applications tag. Facebook members who have existing listings at the Facebook Marketplace will also be given the option to migrate their listings to the new Facebook Marketplace. In addition, the new Facebook Marketplace will also be listed on Facebook’s Application Directory. As to internet marketers can promote online business and the like will remain to be seen.

What do others think of these changes?

Oodle's Facebook Marketplace hits the Web

Classifieds listings have returned to Facebook, thanks to the social network's partnership with e-commerce service Oodle. With Facebook Marketplace's focus on making classifieds "social," the company hopes to give Craigslist a run for its money. But at least right now, it won't mean any new revenue streams for Facebook--it's powered by ads and sponsored listings, with no transaction fees yet.

You may recall that in mid-2007, Facebook launched its own "Marketplace" feature, but it never really caught on. Late last year, Facebook made it public that Marketplace would be relaunched with Oodle's collaboration.

It's different from other Oodle-powered classifieds systems (which include News Corp.'s MySpace): namely, it looks like a Facebook news feed. You can fill out listings as though they were the social network's own status updates, by choosing one of four options (sell, sell and donate proceeds to charity, give away for free, or ask for something). Then, it'll show up in your friends' news feeds as something like, "Caroline is selling a lightsaber." You can sell items to any Facebook member, though friends-only listings are on the way, and when someone looks at your listing they can also see, for example, how many friends you have in common. Oodle and Facebook hope that will boost the trustworthiness factor.

There's no payment system, which means that buyers and sellers currently need to negotiate a means of compensation. It does, however, leave the doors open for an internal Facebook payment system, something that is either in the works or on the back burner depending on who you ask.

Additionally, at this point, posting a classified on Facebook Marketplace is free. But the service is focusing at launch on the sale and exchange of material goods. You can't hunt for jobs or apartments on it yet--that's on the way, and Oodle representatives wouldn't say whether there may be fees for these listings. (Craigslist makes its money from real estate broker fees, for example.)

Oodle and Facebook are highlighting the "donate to a charity" option, which taps into the array of nonprofits reachable through the Network for Good (it also powers the popular "Causes" application on Facebook). While there are over a million registered 501(c)3 nonprofits in the listing, about 20 are launch partners that have agreed to promote Facebook Marketplace.
